Pros

  • Parent context: Yes, a pizza stone would do the trick. I have made delicious crispy crust pizza from the Dollar Store frozen section, on that stone. Reply: Yes, a pizza stone would do the trick. I have made delicious crispy crust pizza f...
  • Preheated pizza stone or steel
  • Build the pizza in an already hot pan or use a properly heated pizza stone
  • Get a pizza stone. Turn the oven up as hot as it will go. Put stone in oven.
  • Use a pizza stone or steel. Preheat to the oven’s max temp.

Cons

  • Not really. Get a pizza steel if anything. a stone is just something heavy and awkward that probably won't fit in your sink to clean.
  • In my experience, too (if I even bother to use one, tbh) but some folks are fixated on stones, so I gave OP the option.
  • Parent context: The crust itself was phenomenal. Im loving how many recipes and hydration levels create vastly different results. Reply: The steel has been way better than the stone that I was using.
  • Honestly, stones are overrated. I used to have one.
  • Parent context: You put frozen pizza on a pizza stone that was preheated in the oven? Reply: I tried that once and my stone cracked right in half. At the time I thought “duh thermal shock- hot stone plus cold pizza of course it cracked.”

I also use a pizza stone (no oil, just cornmeal) and it also works great but is more unwieldy.
