Pros
- pico laser can target pigmentation directly to brighten the area. Often a combination works best, but it really depends on what’s causing it in your case!
- I recently had thermage flx, inmode lifting, and pico laser (along with several others) in one visit. ... I’m about 2 weeks out and am super impressed with results after just one treatment.
- You might consider a Lhala peel or a light pico laser, in addition to LDM for your specific concerns!
- You are on the right track with Pico lasers because they use a photoacoustic shattering effect rather than heat, they are vastly safer for melanin rich skin.
- Parent context: Freckles: Pico laser … Reply: Thank you for all your suggestions! I’m usually a “go all in” person but you and others have validated that I’m harder on myself 😆
Cons
- pico for pigment is the same story, usually 5 or more before it's obvious.
- anything like microneedling, fraxel, or pico laser will literally fry your skin if you go into the sun even with spf because they physically damage the top layer of your skin.
- Parent context: But ive read that even if you pico the dark spots/ Pigmentation/ melasma some of these eventually come back. Reply: This. I spent alot of money doing pico and all the spots came back. Sigh

Freckles: Pico laser is probably your best and safest option. It’s super common here and works well for this kind of pigmentation.
Pico Laser is very effective at breaking down existing pigment, but it treats the visible discoloration, not the underlying cause of why your skin produces pigment in the first place.
