AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Phanteks XT M3 is a well-regarded Micro-ATX case that sits on the larger end of the 'small form factor' spectrum, often described as a bridge between compact builds and mid-towers. It is highly praised for its thermal efficiency, supporting up to nine 120mm fans and providing enough clearance for 360mm radiators and large GPUs. While its spacious interior makes it beginner-friendly and compatible with standard ATX power supplies, its ~40L volume and use of plastic panels are points of contention for users seeking a more premium or truly miniature footprint.

Pros

  • Excellent thermal performance with support for up to nine 120mm fans
  • Spacious interior accommodates large GPUs, ATX power supplies, and 360mm radiators
  • Dedicated PSU compartment isolates heat from the main chamber and aids cable management
  • High value-to-price ratio, frequently noted for including three RGB fans at a competitive price
  • Clean aesthetic that supports vertical GPU mounting

Cons

  • Large physical footprint (~40L) makes it 'monstrous' for users seeking true SFF (Small Form Factor)
  • Front and top plastic panels are criticized by some for feeling flimsy or looking cheap
  • Front I/O is described as bare or minimalist

Caveats

  • The case is wider than many competitors to allow for its specific PSU orientation
  • Perceptions of build quality vary significantly between users who find it clean and those who find the plastic components lacking

Best for

  • First-time builders who want a smaller footprint without the difficulty of a cramped SFF case
  • Users prioritizing high airflow and extensive fan/radiator support
  • Builders who want to reuse standard ATX power supplies in a Micro-ATX build

Avoid if

  • You are looking for a true 'mini' PC or have very limited desk space
  • You prefer premium materials like all-metal construction over plastic panels
  • You require extensive front-panel connectivity

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older (median age ~399 days), and confidence is lower as hardware preferences and competition in the PC case market may have shifted since these mentions.

I miss the Z20, but love the look and airflow of the XT M3.

I put together a build in this case last week and didnt even realise you could vertically mount the GPU in it. Its not exactly a small case but the parts look good in it, and it doesnt look so big when you're sitting next to it.

The layout is very similar to my phanteks xt m3 but the d33 is a tad nicer.

I prefer the phanteks xt m3 or the jonsbo d33 for a 360 aio and micro atx. They have way better cable management than the lian li a3.

It's less than an inch longer and about 2 inches taller but still very short. It has a hidden power supply and hides all the cables id what I like about it.

Also have a phanteks xt m3 which is about the same size as this case and the same layout. I'm considering getting one of these too just to have, lol.

Around this size you have some good options for cases, the phanteks xt m3, the jonsbo d33, the OP case, etc.
