I think Petco and Petsmart wiped out the local stores before Chewy ever came long.

Every single time I see a post about rescuing anything from petsmart/petco, my heart sinks a little lower. The only way to rescue animals from big boxes is to boycott them, not give them more money and justification to keep buying more fish, or anything for that matter, from unethical wholesalers and then continue to keep them in terrible conditions.

Way, way better than the petsmart closer to my house. Same for their reptiles!

The PetSmart cups unfortunately you see the fact that very frequently they either don't do that or it isn't enough.

There is a PetSmart 5 mins walk from my home, compared to Chewy they are always $1-$2 more expensive, and their selection is more limited.

I don’t like to support their fish section (also because I have the best aquarium store by me) but usually you can convince pet smart to adopt out sick or injured fish and reptiles.
