Pros

  • Parallettes feel good too
  • I already use parallettes.
  • Aside from working on your L-sit, they are also useful for stuff line pushups. The grip feels more natural for many people and the added height allows you to go a bit deeper.
  • Parallettes are definitely helpful, because there is less strain being put on the wrist.
  • Parallettes are also great for taking strain off the wrists.

Cons

  • Parent context: I can't do dips or push ups with my hands in the parallel position, it gives me shoulder pain. My wrists have to be in the same alignment as when I hold a barbell. Reply: I do pushups off the floor and with short parallet...
  • In a weird similar way I recently bought parallettes for doing pushups and I think it is harder than doing flat ground and the parallettes add a slight incline so you’d think it would be easier.
  • It might be because my parallettes are too thin, they are less than 30mm in diameter, I ordered better ones which are 40mm
  • Yesterday I made a post stating that a handstand on parallettes is harder and I got A LOT of hate for saying that. ... even after a month of practice it still seems significantly harder than the floor. It feels like I have so much less s...

Parent context: I can't do dips or push ups with my hands in the parallel position, it gives me shoulder pain. My wrists have to be in the same alignment as when I hold a barbell. Reply: I do pushups off the floor and with short parallettes. In one set, I can do about 35 reps off the floor vs 20 with the parallettes. I go very deep on the parallettes, almost nose to floor, so it's the increased ROM making the difference in terms of difficulty.

Parallettes are easier, as a training tool. Parallettes allow you to "grip" and keep your wrists straight.

I got some low-rise 10cm ones that seem pretty good. About 30cm in length for stability.
