Panasonic Lumix S5IIX

As a g9ii owner. The gh6, gh7, g9ii, s5, s5ii, s5iix, sr1ii, and off shoots of that model. Are all able to record to a SSD through usb-c.

Do you work in a fast paced uncontrolled environment? Then s5iix is better for you vs the bmcc 6k ff which is geared more for a controlled environment. Auto focus, ibis, form factor is probably the most obvious choices to consider here.

I know the s5iix has better autofocus/stabilization.

I shot on the HMC-150, the Af100, the GH2, the EVA-1, and now the S5iiX. I miss the form factor and professional outputs of the Af100 and the EVA-1, but I’m happy with the image quality of the S5iiX so I’m sticking with it for probably many more years.

As a primarily S5IIX user, one of the main benefits of it is the Open Gate shooting capability. So you can more easily shoot a YouTube style video, then cut it up into short-form videos for TikTok/IG Reels without losing any quality.

I shoot on an S5iix with pretty middle of the road lenses on a gimbal which I attach to a support arm vest thing or a tilta ring with an easy rig (depending on what the context is).

The S5iix is great but I think buying a better lens for the 300 usd could be a better investment.

Moire seems to be a big sticking point for you, so I just want to point out that I've shot 40+ weddings on the S5iix and haven't had to throw out a clip because of moire once. It's an insane camera for the price.

I love my S5iix. I switched from Sony. Sony has better lens selection. Also, I've lost work over not having a Sony camera for color matching reasons. S5iix is a great overall camera though. I do think sony's autofocus is a touch better still, but its pretty close. I've run my S5iix for over 3 hours. My biggest complaint with it was the app integration for remote shooting, but the latest update fixed that. Image stabilization is great. I often leave the gimbal behind. Recording to an SSD is also really nice.
