AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The NZXT Kraken Elite 360 RGB is a premium liquid cooler widely recognized for its high-end aesthetics, particularly its integrated LCD screen and innovative cable management that hides wires within the tubing. While regarded as a top-tier performer, it is frequently the subject of debate regarding its value proposition, as its high price point often competes with budget allocations for core components like CPUs or GPUs.

Pros

  • Integrated LCD screen for high-end build customization
  • Excellent cable management with wires hidden through the tubing
  • Strong cooling performance suitable for high-end builds
  • Convenient pre-installed thermal paste

Cons

  • High price point (often cited between $200 and $300)
  • Poor price-to-performance ratio compared to budget air or liquid coolers
  • NZXT CAM software is polarizing, with some users preferring competitors like Corsair iCue

Caveats

  • The high cost may represent a 'waste of money' for users focused purely on thermal performance rather than aesthetics.
  • Radiator and fan thickness (approx. 30mm radiator) should be checked for case clearance, though users report it fits well in most standard configurations.

Best for

  • Enthusiast builders prioritizing a 'showpiece' aesthetic
  • Users who want the cleanest possible cable routing around the CPU socket

Avoid if

  • You are on a budget where the price premium could be better spent on a higher-tier CPU or GPU
  • You have a strong preference for non-NZXT software ecosystems

If you really want a screen then you could look at the NZXT Kraken Elite or Lian Li Hydroshift 360 LCD but those are around $200 USD.

Say what you want about NZXT, having the cables hidden through the tubes was a great move. No ugly cablea sticking out of the pump.

From a pure performance perspective, the expensive cooler is a waste of money. It won't cool the CPU any better than the inexpensive air cooler. Only you can decide if the aesthetics are worth having less RAM.

Mr Matt Lee did a video with it using a NZXT Kraken Elite with Lian Li UNI fans, which is an extra thick 30mm radiator, and 28mm fans, and there's visibly still a gap between the fans and the top edge of the motherboard of another 2mm or more.

I personally like corsair's icue software better than nzxt's CAM and don't care about having a display on the AIO, so I'd pick the corsair, if those are your only two options.
