• I ran a 4070 for a year and a 1/2, then upgraded to a 9070XT on launch day last march.
• With the way today's games are being badly optimized and relying on upscalers, I don't think a 4070 would be overkill for 1080p, especially if you want to play native resolution.
• Any game with frame gen support, the 4070 will have noticeably higher framerates.
• Going by average FPS without DLSS upscaling, the RTX 4070 slightly outperforms the 5060 ti 16 gb.

Cons

• Jokes on you, 4070 is like slightly faster than 3070 at best. In no situation will it make the unplayable playable.
• Anything with RTX 4070 and 5070 GPU-s or lower is absolutely not worth buying from your stand yp point, those GPU-s are 20-30% faster than the 3070 you have now (AT BEST)!
• This card was already pretty iffy in its first iteration.
• Parent context: The problem even if you're desperate to buy now is that the 7800XT is faster and cheaper. The 4070 is slightly better at RT, but it has 4Gb less VRAM so it's not an easy decision. I think I'd go the 4070 for $500 over the...
• With either of those you can make better use of fsr upscaling or frame gen with your 2060 and are also in for a gpu upgrade like a 4070/5070 or even better, later down the line.
