NVIDIA DLSS
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
NVIDIA DLSS is widely regarded by the Reddit community as the premier upscaling technology, consistently praised for its superior image stability and quality compared to competitors like AMD's FSR. Users value it for providing significant frame rate improvements, particularly in demanding scenarios like ray tracing, while often maintaining a visual experience that rivals or occasionally exceeds native resolution through its integrated anti-aliasing.
Pros
- Significantly better image quality and stability than FSR.
- Provides a substantial FPS boost, especially in ray-traced or path-traced games.
- Superior anti-aliasing that reduces jagged edges and can look better than native AA solutions.
- Effective at making 1440p or 4K gaming viable on mid-range hardware.
- DLAA mode offers high-quality rendering without upscaling for better stability.
Cons
- Can introduce blurriness compared to native resolution, especially at lower internal render scales.
- Visual quality and performance gains vary depending on the specific game implementation.
- Some users find the visual improvements over competitors to be negligible or unnoticeable during active gameplay.
Caveats
- Renders the game at a lower internal resolution before upscaling to the target output.
- Requires specific NVIDIA hardware to function.
- Performance benefits are less noticeable when the output resolution is already low (e.g., 1080p).
Best for
- Gamers wanting to play at 4K or 1440p with high frame rates.
- Users running demanding ray-tracing or path-tracing settings.
- Improving image clarity in games with poor native anti-aliasing.
Avoid if
- You are a native-resolution purist who is highly sensitive to upscaling artifacts or blur.
- You do not own an NVIDIA RTX-series graphics card.
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is drawn from a window between January 2025 and March 2026, with a median source age of approximately 207 days, providing a relatively current view of the technology's performance.

DLSS Quality outputting to 1440p will render at 1707x960 internally. As that's only slightly less than 1920x1080, you won't notice much performance benefit compared to that resolution, but you will get better picture quality than outputting at 1080p and having your monitor upscale to 1440p.
With DLSS performance I manage 4k/60/high+ (no RT obviously) no problem with a 4070Ti and 11700K and DDR4
Native DLSS and FSR 4 is antialiasing solved.
DLSS does a wonderful job in that regard and in this game I can barely notice any ghosting or other DLSS artifacts.
Dlss is infinitely better than FSSR watch digital foundry they explain everything very very well
DLSS slaps compared to FSR, used both recently on a 6700XT and then a 5070ti
The updated versions of DLSS are in most games.
To claim that FSR 4 is even close to DLSS 4.5 is very charitable to FSR. As a general rule, FSR is usable, but way less crisp and stable compared to DLSS. Even DLSS performance mode can compare to FSR Quality mode, and sometimes even provide a better image.
I would stick with 4070Ti Super for DLSS though. It is better than FSR. No shade to amd card, but DLSS can be a lifesaver to some games.
Debatable. DLSS also provides anti aliasing. Native resolution probably needs anti-aliasing as a separate step to look as good as DLSS unless the crisp pixelated look works for you. It is true that AA can be basically free, like FXAA as a glorified blur filter tends to have no fps impact at all and might look good enough (probably varies by game and preference), …
