NTFS is not a real journaling file system. It only tries to be, but doesn't go all the way. HFS+, ZFS and btrfs are examples for real journaling file systems.

NTFS is not a real journaling file system. It only tries to be, but doesn't go all the way. HFS+, ZFS and btrfs are examples for real journaling file systems. everyone just janks the usb out without ejecting safely. journaling helps preventing data loss from unexpected power failure.

Why would you format the 2tb as exfat instead of NTFS? Are you switching linux or want dual booting?
