Northstar California Resort

Pros

• You can hit Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood in a weekend trip and they get massive amounts of snow.
• Northstar is pretty mild overall, but there's some great tree riding on the Backside. During big storms/wind, Northstar can often keep their lifts spinning when other resorts have shut down.
• During storms, Northstar can be a good call, as they can keep they lifts open when others are closed/limited.
• Hit Heavenly and Northstar on weekdays, Kirkwood on weekend.
• I know that Northstar and Heavenly are paradise for intermediates

• Northstar will have the best parks by end of December but have fun with the crowds
• Some northstars had cooling issues which led to head gaskets being a problem
• Caddy has the NorthStar V8, which has some problems and is nowhere near as stout as the 4.6 in the panther bodies.
• The northstar is a very smooth, quiet, and powerful engine when it's working right. You would need to pay for premium gas on V8 fuel economy, so keep that in mind. Repairs can be a little expensive because they really crammed that engine...
