Nordstrom

Pros
- I do know that Nordstrom has a reasonable selection of higher-end shoes in women's size 4 (US), which is indeed not easy to find.
- Zappos and Nordstrom are two sites that will stock nicer shoes in size 12.
- I’d go to Nordstrom, go to the dresses, ask for help immediately, don’t wander and get frustrated. The staff there are almost always amazing. They can do alterations to help fit properly in the chest. It’ll be worth it.
- Try Nordstrom. They have white belts of different widths, and maybe you'll find what you're looking for.
- If you're stateside, I like to go to Nordstrom website for inspiration.
Cons
- hopefully get a little better quality than some shitty OTR from Nordstrom or Macy’s.
- I just saw the wildest possible recession indicator: Nordstrom is now carrying H&M.
- I just spent two hours with a Nordstrom stylist, and I’m not confident in any of the choices.
- My usual strategy is opening like 15 tabs across nordstrom, zara, asos, mango, reformation, etc and just scrolling endlessly through their black friday sections hoping something jumps out.
- In the past I tried wool coats from Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack (Theory, Fleurette brands) and they were so boxy, heavy, no drape.

I’d also recommend going in person to a Nordstrom and speaking with a salesperson. They sometimes can get shoes in larger sizes by custom ordering, they just don’t regularly stock them. ... Nordstrom was originally a shoe store when it opened, and they still operate like one.
Worth a trip to Nordstrom since you can try a pile of them in one go and they do alterations in house.
For shoes and dresses, go to a nice department store like Nordstrom and just start trying stuff on.
Later when I worked at Nordstrom I would tell customers the same thing: just try stuff on. You won’t like most of it but you find stuff you do like. That’s why department stores and thrift stores are great: it’s such a huge variety.
