Pros

  • Rest of the build: * MSI Pro X870E-P WiFi
  • I recently bought from Microcenter a bundled AMD 7 9800X3D with a MSI PRO X870E-P WIFI for $529.
  • Now this is just me but if u are willing to spend 250 then maybe the MSI PRO X870E-P WIFI would be a solid choice, this would get u more PCIE lanes so that your primary pciex16 slot wont be affected or atleast as much sinc3 it depends on...
  • MOBO - MSI pro X870E-P wifi
  • I do have access to a microcenter and had my eye on the MSI X870E-P Pro WiFi, but not sure if the ASUS X870E-E ROG Strix Gaming R2 is worth the price difference to upgrade.

Cons

  • Only the first full length slot on that motherboard has x16 CPU lanes. The next full length slot (the third slot down) only has 4 chipset lanes. And the last slot is full length but only has 1 chipset lane.
  • the moboo will me no difference at all
  • Now when both EXPO and memory context restore are enabled, it won't boot. I'm pretty sure the motherboard is the issue because it works with both the 7700X and 9850X3D on my old motherboard and the same RAM is being used on both boards....
  • Even after driver updates, and using the built in button to clear CMOS, it won't show up. I made sure it's enabled in the bios.
  • For some reason I cant get the ethernet or wifi to show up in windows. I had ti throw an extra wifi/Bluetooth card in to get it to work.

So is this an issue with the X870E-P in general or did I just get a bad board?
