Pros

  • Also PHEV from 2022. Never charged the battery, was keeping its charge level at around 50%... Got something like 36.5 mpg (7.7 l/100km). That’s pretty much aligned to what you are showing here and pretty good numbers for a car this size...
  • Get the PHEV instead? Seems perfect for your useage if you can charge at home
  • if you’re looking for more luxury, space, power and better fuel economy the PHEV is the move.
  • I’ve got a 2022 PHEV and I’m very happy with it. As I’ve understood newer models (from 2024 onwards) have fixed some of the issues the original models have (especially suspension and clunky gearbox).
  • I think you get a lot more car in the CX-60. The CX-5 is a nice car, but it's in a whole other market segment. The CX-60 has way more performance and features if you take the 6 cylinder models or the PHEV

Cons

  • PHEV owner here. With the ongoing heatwave in the UK, I’ve tried “pre-cooling” the car a couple of times and it hasn’t worked at all. I use the remote “pre-warming” all the time during winter and it works perfectly alright.
  • I have had the phev for almost 3 years. The car is decent and enjoyable, suspension is firm, transmission is a little clunky but not terrible. However I feel there is a lot more phev and ev options now and wouldn’t get it again over others
  • My realistic consumption with CX60 after ~40.000km: 30-35 kwh/100km (solely electric) OR 9-10L/100km (solely gas), which is ~24-26 mi/gal... I would not recommend PHEV and MY next car will be a diesel again.

It works fine on my PHEV, but: 1) only if I have some range in the battery left and 2) I have to give it a few minutes to activate and do its thing.

PHEV because of subsidies from government on plugins and EVs.
