Parent context: This was something that came to me when I tried Mayacamas. The acidity is so pronounced at its younger age and by the time it had aged for a long while, the fruit dropped off, the acidity remained, and I hated that wine even more(2011). But then I tried the 1999 and it had the perfect balance of soft hints of fruit, earthy notes, and now that acidity was welcome.
I just wouldn’t want to be rushed when visiting the gorgeous site that is Mayacamas.
Dominus and Mayacamas are my personal picks.
