- My wife got masseter Botox for the same grinding issue and people kept asking if she lost weight for like 2 months straight. The face slimming effect is real and pretty dramatic honestly. Hard to separate from actual weight loss in photo...

- About every 6-9 months. I think some factors like exercising and sauna-ing contribute to how fast it wears off. I do it for both but if the physical change benefits disappeared tomorrow I would still keep going because it helps with my g...
Cons
- I did 30 units for the first time, but when I didn’t see enough of a difference in tension and pain after 2-3 weeks, I went back and got another 10, so 40 total. My only quibble is that going so high made it so it was hard to eat and che...
- Truthfully, it is definitely making a difference in how wide your lower face is but not in a good way (in my personal opinion). You look 15 years older with the slimmer lower face.
- I had 15 units injected into each masseter ONCE (very conservative dosing for masseters, which are the strongest muscles in the body,) and ended up with peanut face (jowls and massive mid face volume loss) for 6 months. Never again. I've...
- All that being said, my pre-jowls were caused by masseter Botox (NEVER AGAIN.)

I did 30 units for the first time, but when I didn’t see enough of a difference in tension and pain after 2-3 weeks, I went back and got another 10, so 40 total. My only quibble is that going so high made it so it was hard to eat and chew at times. I could feel my jaw getting tired from chewier foods. Even pizza was difficult. Steak was out of the question.
Truthfully, it is definitely making a difference in how wide your lower face is but not in a good way (in my personal opinion). You look 15 years older with the slimmer lower face.
I had 15 units injected into each masseter ONCE (very conservative dosing for masseters, which are the strongest muscles in the body,) and ended up with peanut face (jowls and massive mid face volume loss) for 6 months. Never again. I've never felt so ugly in my life.
All that being said, my pre-jowls were caused by masseter Botox (NEVER AGAIN.)
Parent context: I tried masseter Botox but it didn’t work. I wear Invisalign and have cracked a couple of aligners 😬 Reply: I honestly didn't know what a relaxed jaw felt like until I got Botox. So I really tried to focus on what that felt like, and when it would start to wear off, I would consciously remind myself to relax my jaw throughout the day before it got bad enough at night that I had to go back. Eventually, it stuck.
Having some jowls appear, is a lot better than the nightmare of your molars cracking despite a night guard, and the roughly 1,200 dollars it will cost per tooth for a porcelain crown, plus root canal, or if you have the money to really spend, a full on dental implant.
More often than not, masseter Botox is a medical thing.
My wife got masseter Botox for the same grinding issue and people kept asking if she lost weight for like 2 months straight. The face slimming effect is real and pretty dramatic honestly. Hard to separate from actual weight loss in photos but the jaw definition change is pretty distinct.
It’s aging you a bit so I’d get less of it and less often if you need it
I got masseter Botox in August and I’ve been wondering if it’s doing anything for me. ... although I did notice my jaw stayed slack during times when I usually would clench, like at work or in traffic. Anyway I wanted to share my results bc I just saw a picture of me from a couple years ago and holy shit did it make a difference!! I feel much better about it now 🥹
