Botox

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
Botox is widely regarded by users as the most effective treatment for dynamic wrinkles and fine lines, often described as a "miracle" compared to topical skincare. While highly praised for its ability to smooth skin and prevent deep lines from forming, it is a temporary solution that requires ongoing maintenance and a skilled injector to avoid aesthetic pitfalls.
Pros
- Highly effective at smoothing dynamic wrinkles where topical creams fail.
- Acts as a preventative measure against deep, permanent lines.
- Can provide a subtle 'glow' and smoother skin texture when used correctly.
- May reduce headaches caused by constant squinting.
- Results are temporary, which is seen as a safety net for those unhappy with the look.
Cons
- Requires regular maintenance every 3-4 months.
- Risk of an 'unnatural' or 'insincere' look if overdone (e.g., smiles not reaching the eyes).
- Potential for technical errors like uneven brows or drooping.
- Does not improve skin collagen levels.
Caveats
- Pricing can be misleading as units are not always 1:1 across different providers or products.
- Initial results may take longer to diminish during the first few treatments.
- Finding a skilled injector is critical to avoid being 'gaslit' regarding poor results or unevenness.
Best for
- Smoothing '11' lines and forehead wrinkles.
- Preventative anti-aging for those in their mid-20s to 30s.
- Individuals seeking a more effective alternative to anti-aging lotions.
Avoid if
- You are looking for a permanent fix for wrinkles.
- You are highly concerned about maintaining full facial expressiveness.
- You expect the treatment to increase collagen production.

Oh, with Botox lol. I did a standard amount for chin dimpling, which it fixed, but I could tell my chin was still much higher and tighter than it used to be. ... I relaxed the mentalis with several more units and the scar slid down and back, under my chin. The loss of upward tension stopped the pressure forming that downward line, and bingo, it started to fade.
The biggest change was Botox after Profhilo, the Profhilo added a really nice subtle glow then the Botox smoothed my skin.
I've been getting botox a lot for like 5 years now and zero sign so far. Of course I don't stick with 1 brand. The only thing is it's actually lasting longer these days because the muscles is definitely weakened
Plastic surgery resident here. Botox is the only thing you can do for it. Your skin quality is good so those other things aren't indicated. You can do a small amount but you need to get it done every 3-4 months, like 15-20 units total split in half for each side. It won't look unnatural unless you get tons.
Nothing besides botox or a tox will make them go away. Creams lotions and potions are wishful thinking
It's pretty much over. Gonna need rounds of Botox now/s
Yes you can start now surely, guasha will help, the first few times botox results take longer to diminish, since you had the treatment before probably around two months mark it wont be very noticeable.
No there will be no permanent changes, massage the area daily lightly
For lip flips specifically I've heard mixed things about which one lasts longer but most people seem to prefer Botox for that area.
The whole "you need less Botox" thing is kinda misleading because the units aren't 1:1 anyway, so if they're charging the same price per unit at your place you're probably getting ripped off on the Botox
