I'd personally go for the 48GB, it's significantly more future proof.
m4 pro is already good enough for development, take the 48gb ram as running out of it will be much more unforgiving.
last summer I recently spent $2,000+ for a MacBook M4 Pro, 14 Core, 20 Core GPU, 24GB Unified Memory, 1 TB SSD.
My cousin's 7970X with quad channel memory and a RTX A5500 gets smoked by his M4 Pro Mac Mini lmfao and its also not even even close.

I have the 24gb one and it’s near unusable when you use external monitors.
From what I’ve seen, the M5 Pro has better performance (especially SSD speed and AI-related tasks), but the M4 Pro option has double the RAM.
I am currently using a 2025 Apple M4 Pro MacBook Pro. I'm trying to copy files to a 2TB San Disk Extreme Pro Portable SSD.
