Reddit take

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

LinkedIn Learning is widely recommended by the Reddit certification community as a high-quality resource for professional exam preparation, particularly for IT and security certifications like Azure, CISSP, and SSCP. Users frequently highlight its convenience for video-based learning and the inclusion of reputable practice exams.

Pros

  • Often accessible for free through public libraries (especially in the US) or employer benefits
  • High-quality course content from recognized instructors like Mike Chappel
  • Includes practice exams and chapter quizzes that users find effective for certification prep
  • Convenient mobile-friendly format for learning during downtime

Cons

  • Standard individual access requires a paid subscription
  • Heavy reliance on video format may not appeal to those who prefer text-based study

Caveats

  • Library access is dependent on whether your specific local branch subscribes to the service
  • While practice tests are available, they may not cover every specific certification path

Best for

  • IT professionals studying for Azure, CISSP, or SSCP certifications
  • Learners who have access to a participating public library
  • Individuals who prefer structured video courses over self-guided reading

Avoid if

  • You strongly dislike video-based instruction
  • You do not have library or employer access and are unwilling to pay for a subscription

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median age of approximately 413 days, which may impact the relevance of specific course availability for the newest software versions.

My advice would be to do as many different practice exams as possible before sitting the exam. Get free questions online, LearnZApp, CertPrep, LinkedIn learning and Pluralsight.

Practice tests - the 4 exams on LinkedIn learning with 150 questions each. ... My strategy was watching the cram video first, then do one test on LinkedIn learning, then at the end of the exam it tells you your incorrect answers, which i then referenced from the 11th hour book

I collected 140 CPEs in my first year as a CISSP, probably 100 from LinkedIn Learning. It's good for broadening your knowledge BUT I would never pay out of pocket for it.

I'd rather pay for LinkedIn Learning and be able to take a 9 hr or 20 hr course than sit through a bunch of smaller units of free webinars... It's well worth the $179.91 annual fee to me.

I think LinkedIn Learning is a good platform and it cost less than $200 annually. It has thousands of courses from photography to InfoSec and many other topics. I highly recommend it.

Udemy, O'Reilly, LinkedIn learning (if you have subscription at any of them), they have mobile/tablet application with offline functionality.
