Reddit take

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

MeasureUp is widely considered one of the most accurate practice exam providers for Microsoft certifications, frequently praised for mimicking the actual exam's complexity, phrasing, and mindset. While many users find it essential for passing difficult exams like the AZ-104, it is often criticized for its high price point and occasional technical issues, such as outdated content or a clunky review interface.

Pros

  • Closely mimics the style, complexity, and phrasing of official Microsoft exams.
  • Detailed explanations for both correct and incorrect answers help deepen conceptual understanding.
  • High difficulty level effectively identifies knowledge gaps and blind spots.
  • Excellent for practicing time management and getting used to long, scenario-based questions.

Cons

  • Significantly more expensive than competitors like Tutorials Dojo.
  • Reports of outdated content, including broken links to documentation and out-of-scope questions.
  • The user interface for reviewing tests is described as poorly implemented or clunky.
  • Occasional errors in answer keys where the 'correct' answer is actually wrong.

Caveats

  • Users recommend scoring consistently in the 85-90% range on MeasureUp before attempting the real exam.
  • Effectiveness can vary significantly by specific certification; some exams are better maintained than others.
  • Risk of memorizing specific questions rather than learning the underlying technology if taken too many times.

Best for

  • Candidates preparing for high-stakes Microsoft certifications (Azure, O365).
  • Learners who want a realistic simulation of the exam environment.
  • Identifying specific weak areas after completing initial study materials.

Avoid if

  • You are on a tight budget and prefer more affordable alternatives like Tutorials Dojo.
  • You are looking for a primary learning resource rather than a final practice tool.
  • You find overly pedantic or confusingly worded questions frustrating.

This was good, it helped me get in the right mindset for the test question styles, but still I don't think it was all that helpful other than getting the mindset

Both TD and Measure Up don’t accurately reflect the case studies in my opinion.

I think the practice tests here are closest to the level of detail and minutia that you'll encounter on the test. The only thing is that I don't like their product! After completing a practice test, the review mode is just very poorly implemented.

I have the MeasureUp practice test and it's highlighted a few areas I need to brush up on.

MeasureUp feels better than TD for AZ-305.

MeasureUp. Mostly for going through the topics. Scored around 50 in each section. IMO not very useful as it has way too much Powershell / cli. I am not even sure if some questions are in scope of AZ 104.

Up until a week ago, I was struggling with practice exams, couldn’t break 80% on Microsoft Learn and kept failing MeasureUp and Tutorial Dojo.

I felt measure up has unnecessary senseless questions not aligned to the actual certification . For example command to rotate key using cli , Their options are also no worded properly I felt not worth the money for 104

I used MeasureUp and Tutorial Dojo for practice questions. I found the actual exam a lot harder than what was provided as practice tests for either. I was scoring in the 90% range on all practice tests and felt super confident going in, got low 700s on the actual exam
