AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

LearnZapp is a widely used mobile study application primarily focused on CISSP and SSCP exam preparation. It is highly regarded for its convenience and its ability to reinforce technical concepts and terminology found in the Official Study Guide (OSG). While it is praised as a tool for "on-the-go" learning, many users caution that its question style is more technical and knowledge-based than the actual exam, which often requires a more managerial mindset and different wording.

Pros

  • Excellent for mobile study and utilizing "dead time" or commutes.
  • Strong alignment with the Official Study Guide (OSG) for reinforcing core concepts.
  • Useful dashboard for tracking performance and identifying weak domains.
  • Effective for high-volume question practice to build technical stamina.

Cons

  • Questions are often not reflective of the actual exam's wording or managerial logic.
  • Can be a "confidence killer" due to overly technical or niche questions not found in main texts.
  • Occasional reports of typos and frustratingly specific or partially correct answers.
  • The "overall readiness" percentage is frequently cited as an unreliable metric for exam success.

Caveats

  • Users recommend using the app as a supplement for concept reinforcement rather than a primary exam simulator.
  • A high score in the app does not necessarily guarantee readiness for the actual exam's phrasing.

Best for

  • Daily practice and concept reinforcement.
  • Identifying specific knowledge gaps after reading a domain.
  • Studying on-the-go without needing a physical textbook.

Avoid if

  • You are looking for a question bank that perfectly mimics the actual exam's mindset and phrasing.
  • You are easily discouraged by technical questions that may be outside the scope of the core exam material.

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is current, with a median source age of 42 days, providing a relevant look at the app's performance for recent exam cycles.

All I used was the official study guide with a good bit of note taking, the learnzapp, the CISSP study guide podcast on Spotify, and 2-3 listens of Pete Zerger’s main overview video.

LearnZapp is kind of a joke.

LearnZapp is a joke compared to the actual exam, I would say my test was harder than Quantum tbh.

I would NOT recommend the All-in-One book or LearnZapp. ... I would not recommend LearnZapp.

Parent context: No just the LearnZapp tests Reply: Do their free test sample. It honestly VERY different from all other test I tried.

LearnZapp 9/10: As a study resource, I used it after I would finish one domain in DestCert. Then I identify gaps and cover them with the OSG. Also used it to reinforce domains finished earlier

For me the learnZapp made all the difference on my second attempt! I focused on the below proficiency subjects and made 100s of practice questions.

Learnzapp questions as you probably know are not representative of actual exam questions. You need to be doing less of these and 100s of QE questions.

LearnZapp (9/10) - I used this for a couple of months to practice on the go. The questions are from the OSG, so they aligned well with readings. The dashboard was nice for tracking domain strengths, but I wouldn't put much stock in the "overall readiness" percentage.

LearnZapp & ISC2 book were also helpful. I was ready to test because I was at a point that I used up all my question banks!
