- The UI is ridiculously frustrating. Everytime I get on it, it takes a hour to figure out how to make it talk to my Akai Live 2, via separate midi channels, add effects, change some basic parameters… and why am I using the Live2… because...
- I also liked that the NS3 put all the standard synth controls on the front panel as opposed to Korg burying them in menus and requiring you to program them to generic controls. Plus the Kronos' piano-style keybed isn't conducive to synth...

Kronos, definitely. The included factory libraries are quite good, and no other synth has the breadth of aftermarket third-party libraries that the Kronos has.

The UI is ridiculously frustrating. Everytime I get on it, it takes a hour to figure out how to make it talk to my Akai Live 2, via separate midi channels, add effects, change some basic parameters… and why am I using the Live2… because the sequencer on the Kronos is outdated even for the 90’s. There is no denying the Kronos is powerful. I take it back, it’s incredibly powerful… so powerful it amazes me with its potential.
However, the Kronos has better and more diverse pianos, *vastly* better organs and Leslie sim, and great classic synth sounds. ... But if I could only have one, it'd be the Kronos.
I also liked that the NS3 put all the standard synth controls on the front panel as opposed to Korg burying them in menus and requiring you to program them to generic controls. Plus the Kronos' piano-style keybed isn't conducive to synth leads (or playing organ patches).
Now, a year later, the Kronos remains at the top of my keyboard stand as my primary synth.
Kronos makes their own time clock hardware, why use some iPad? They do biometrics, encrypt everything, only communicate with the IP addresses you put in during setup, run Linux under-the-hood.
