Thank you for pointing out the DT 900 Pro X, these look pretty fantastic! (and a detachable cable god how I've wanted that for my DT 990s).
The buyer dt 900 pro x has better sub bass, recessed mids, better imaging and a more punchy bass. Both are very comfortable and light, very easy to use them for hours
I had also considered the DT900 Pro X, but unfortunately, there are frequent reports that this product line seems to not have the same high structural reliability as the standard series (DT770 Pro / DT990 Pro) and the more expensive Beyerdynamics, for example that the ear pads wear out more quickly or certain plastic parts tend to break, which would then require the entire headband to be replaced.
If I were you, I would also go for the DT900 Pro X (or DT990 Pro X). You can easily compensate for minor subjective shortcomings in sound (with both headphone models) using an EQ.

But they kinda missing that trailing end of notes since the dampener is quite thick, resulting in some kind of dullness in the upper region. Still quite good set of headphones, especially for gaming. They clamp quite strongly, although the ear pads are just very soft.

For the DT 900 Pro X in particular, they're more like a semi open, and the leakage isn't too bad. When I use them in a quiet room with my wife beside me, like 1 meter away, she doesn't hear much, if anything.
