Jonsbo D31
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Jonsbo D31 is a popular micro-ATX (mATX) case praised for its aesthetic appeal and ability to house high-end, large-scale components like the RTX 5090. While it offers good thermal performance and a clean look that hides the PSU, it faces criticism for its larger-than-expected footprint and inconsistent build quality, particularly regarding chassis flex and screw threading.
Pros
- Spacious enough to accommodate large GPUs and ATX-to-mATX build migrations
- Strong aesthetic appeal, with users specifically highlighting the white version
- Capable of maintaining cool and quiet operation with proper fan tuning
- Internal design includes a side panel that effectively hides the power supply
Cons
- Build quality concerns including chassis flex and poorly finished screw threads
- Significantly larger than many users expected for an mATX case
- The integrated screen on specific models has been criticized for poor visual quality
- Front I/O placement at the bottom of the case is inconvenient for some setups
Caveats
- Users report that the powder coating can interfere with motherboard standoffs and screw threads, increasing the risk of cross-threading
- Some community members suggest the build quality is a step down from the previous D30 model
- Airflow efficiency is highly dependent on fan orientation; some users found a reverse layout improved temperatures
Best for
- Builders looking for a stylish mATX case that can fit oversized modern GPUs
- Users transitioning from ATX builds who want a smaller footprint without sacrificing component compatibility
Avoid if
- You are looking for a truly compact Small Form Factor (SFF) experience
- You prioritize rigid, premium build quality over aesthetics
- You prefer a case with top-mounted or eye-level front I/O ports
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older (median age ~417 days) and comes primarily from specialized PC building communities. Confidence is medium as newer models like the D32 Pro are now frequently mentioned as alternatives.

The Z20 is a different volume category. if you need a smaller case, then choose the Z20. I had both and the D31 screen will ruin your eyes.
I love the CH270 and wish I could justify moving out of my Jonsbo D31 to it.
D31 and D32 Pro (Horizontal PSU top + 1~2 front fans, depending on which ver).
Maybe Jonsbo d31 but I think as well that this fan is not necessary or helpful

I have a similar case(jonsbo d31)
My ATX build that got moved into an mATX case! ... it still runs reasonably cool and quiet at the speeds I’ve limited the fans to.
In the end, I opted for the Jonsbo D31 as it has a side panel that hides the PSU.
Here is my d31
I originally built in D31, but I’m planning to rebuild in D32 a year later. So don’t make the same mistake — go straight to D32 from the start.
