Ippodo

Pros

• I would have said Ippodo a few years ago, but their NYC location sadly closed.
• You can have a good bowl of Ippodo matcha at home, but you can't have the sun glittering off Matsushima Bay.

• I had to pre-order for seasonal Matcha from Ippodo. This is the new normal.
• I have been looking to buy some matcha for a while but I am struggling to decide what to buy. I have seen a lot of people suggesting Ippodo but they seem to be sold out.

Cons

• Ippodo, is a very popular seller around the world and especially the U.S and Canada. However they have some pretty subpar instruction, which (in my experience) people agree you shouldn't follow.
• Some places (ippodo) recommend boiling genmaicha, which I just don't understand. It burns the tea and brings out all the tannins, which obscure the rice taste. It's fine, it still tastes like genmaicha but it just tastes worse than 175 a...
• FWIW, I'm part of that demand drop. Because I looked a few times, they never had stock, so I gave up looking.
• There’s been some discussion on how much easier it is to get Ippodo matcha from their official site recently... I feel like it's mostly been their increased prices leading to the decline.
