Pros

  • One round of IPL with a good practitioner and it’s halfway faded.
  • My cheeks and moles and sun spots lightened with the lasers (highly recommended!) so I don’t think this is rosacea.
  • What helped me is IPL (I use it on my whole body and it was a game changer (I use philips lumea)).
  • Try IPL! Life changing for me
  • There are lots of no downtime laser treatments that will stimulate collagen - fraxel, morpheus8, IPL, Clear and Brilliant, etc.

Cons

  • It is a certainly a better option for darker scans as compared to IPL
  • FYI, I've done IPL too, but it doesn't really help with redness in skin (it's great for reducing brown spots or sun spots though).
  • I've have IPL done many years ago and kept up with my skincare since so I don't have a ton of dark spots.
  • Parent context: I did a few rounds of IPL to deal with some sunspots but I know that’s not an option for everyone. Reply: It took like 3 sessions to see much of an impact. A good practitioner does make a big difference. They are able to...
  • I tried tried a bunch of lasers over the years for it (IPL maybe 6 times over the years, Fraxl once, laser genesis, microneedling, expensive creams, etc., and as soon as my skin saw the sun, it would blow up in melasma and spots…

A good practitioner does make a big difference. They are able to spot treat which I didn’t realize til three sessions in - this made a big impact I believe. I’m pleased but it is def a longer process bc of the number of sessions.
