Yea, there were some issues w the intel chips like getting to much voltage and degrading, but if you update motherboard bios and undervolt it, should be good to go. I haven’t had any probs at all and it does come w a 5 year warranty anyway
But would an Intel CPU still work perfectly good with the RX 9060 XT?
reading tens of posts about the fact that Intel's CPU are dominating and just better for all sorts of productive works, I'm not so sure now.
Intel seems to gain more cooling from AIOs compared to AM5 cpus, due to the different IHS designs.
For this purpose I would recommend an Intel CPU. Their integrated GPUs are much better at transcoding than AMD. Also, they tend to use less power at idle.
Then I'd say you can drop some cost and go without a GPU, but instead go Intel CPU and rely on the iGPU.
the highest performance cpus that accept ddr4 are #1 intel, #2 intel, #3 intel (it goes on and on) and they fit both in ddr4 and ddr5 mobos (unless its like a 285K which only supports ddr5)
65W+ 13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs have a degredation issue, especially the higher-end models.
14th gen i9s were even worse with chip deaths. Why would you to a platform with an even worse reputation?
if you aren't planning on upgrading on am5 I would also strongly consider an intel cpu for the extra multicore perf at a cheaper price point.
