Pros

  • It's the most powerful CPU I've ever bought.
  • 245K is much faster, I'd get that one if you can.
  • The 245K for 190€ in EU is great. 14 cores, good at gaming, excellent at work.
  • I’m running a 245k on my server with it limited to 125 watts. I’m able to cool it with a 30 dollar scyth low profile cooler and ptm. It flies.
  • 245k and 265k are insane value for productivity but it doesnt make sense to buy them for just gaming (265k>9900x>245k>9700x)

Cons

  • The Intel Core Ultra 5 245K is okay, but its integrated graphics aren’t as strong as the 8700G for gaming.
  • So i built a pc here couple weeks ago with a 245k i got as open box cheap. Paired with a 9070 xt, 16GB ram which i bought used (5600mhz CL36).
  • in my country 245k build is like 70$ cheaper then and build both are ddr5 but and comes with better future upgrade path so i justcso much confused.
  • On Ryzen 9600X + RX 9060 XT vs Intel Ultra 5 + RTX 5060, at your price point the AMD combo is better value right now. The 9600X is an absolute workhorse for gaming and the RX 9060 XT punches well above its price in rasterization. The RTX...

The 245k objectively has better multi-thread performance. It has higher power draw in those applications because it has more cores.

The 245k generates less heat in gaming applications, end of story.

The 245k actually draws less power than the 9600x. Same with single-thread applications.

Leave the 245K, it's not bottlenecking the 9070XT so it's fine. At higher resolutions you need much more GPU than CPU power so as long as you don't have a bottleneck the performance increase will be very small
