I’d personally avoid the 14900k. It puts out a ton of heat so even with a good cooler the fans have to run fast which makes it loud. Even with them full speed you might get thermal throttling.

If they get damaged by carefully peeling away that sticker then either they were already faulty or that sticker has **really** unreasonably strong adhesive.
A similar i9-14900k (2023) with ddr4-3200 ram (no upgrade to ddr5) would cost about $720 now on Amazon.
I'm on my third 14900k, it still has problems, but i've mitigated them to the point its stable, really good chip if you can keep it cooled and away from thermally throttling. Just not worth the headach.

you can get a 12900K or Ks which can also improve multi core performance if you need it or go all out with a 14900K, but you need to messa round with bios or won't last long.
I have a 14900k, it runs hot, can't imagine how bad that one will be.
