I'm on 12900K, Z690 board and 64GB DDR4 (bought before this crap). Back when I was upgrading from 10400F, DDR5 was twice as expensive as DDR4 (hence 64GB) and AM5 was pricey too, so I just went with LGA1700, DDR4 and used 12900K from local marketplace. Zero regrets.
My 12900K died a couple of months ago from IMC degradation.
you can get a 12900K or Ks which can also improve multi core performance if you need it or go all out with a 14900K
I have a 12900k which is about as fast in gaming as the 245k. I have zero bottlenecks in 4k or even at 1440p with a 4080 super, which is about as fast as a 9070xt.
