My main issue is my current CPU (i7-4770), which I believe is holding my system back.
Don't waste your money on an i7 4770 unless you currently have an i3 in there.
The best i7 CPUs you can buy for your 4th Gen Intel socket will all be worse than the cheapest modern Ryzen 5 (3000 series or above).
The CPU is 13 years old and it uses DDR3 RAM. You would need to essentially replace the whole thing.
Is it worth upgrading from new i5 4670 to used i7 4770 (36$)?
