Intel Core i7-12700F

In my opinion, 12700f or k should be reasonable price/performance still. I think the cpu will still be bottlenecked here, it’s a good CPU even now.

I have a 12700F and 9070 XT. It's a great combo at 4K which is what I use it for, and I can imagine it will also be great at 1440p.

Most scenarios probably no. 12700f is a decent gaming cpu.

I have a PC with a 12700F and a 9070XT and one with a 7600 and 7900 XT, both are used for 4K and neither of them are ever bottlenecked by the CPU.

You can very easily run a 9070 XT or 5070 Ti on a 650W PSU without sacrificing performance. I ran a 12700F and a 7800 XT on a 500W PSU without issues.

Honestly I'd just grab a 12700F or 12600KF and stick with your current board - DDR5 prices are still kinda nuts and the performance difference isn't worth the mobo + RAM cost unless you're doing serious workstation stuff

Your 12700F is still a powerhouse.

The 12700F is still a solid chip and unless you're really pushing high refresh rate gaming or doing something cpu-intensive, you might not feel the difference day to day.

The 12700f is perfectly fine atm
