Pros

  • I'm getting a i5 7500 in a few days, hope it works.
  • we had a G4560 as well and upgraded to i5 7500 it was good enough for a very budget rig

Cons

  • I'm not looking to play AAA titles, I have a different gaming PC I gave to my GF that can run those if I really wanted to, but I mostly play Xbox and light pc gaming, just want a little more out of this so I can play Minecraft with my GF...
  • Lost cause, imo, especially since your CPU can't even officially run Windows 11 and will significantly bottleneck any much more powerful GPU.
  • your cpu is definitely holding you back more than the gpu right now. that i5 7500 is getting pretty long in the tooth for modern games.
  • I just purchased a Dell OptiPlex SFF 3050 i5-7500 8GB Ram 256GB SSD Win 10 Pro Desktop and would like to know the best upgrades that come to mind. I do know this pc is dated but would still appreciate feedback.
  • My current build: Intel i5 7500

I'm not looking to play AAA titles, I have a different gaming PC I gave to my GF that can run those if I really wanted to, but I mostly play Xbox and light pc gaming, just want a little more out of this so I can play Minecraft with my GF and modded Minecraft with the boys occasionally.

The i5 has 4 physical cores (no hyper-threading) running at 3.4GHz. SOME programs seem to run better with actual multi-core instead of multi-threaded.
