Pros

  • i once had an intel core I5 - 6500 running at a stable 100+ no vents cuz they had gotten stuck for quite some time, maybe around a week, and the only thing that kept the pc on was the vents occasionally getting unstuck for a few minutes...
  • I have i5-6500, I changed to 32GB DDR4 (before this Ramocalypse), NVM SSD and have to say it’s doing great. TLDR: change RAM and SSD

Cons

  • currently looking at upgrading from my current build from 2016, which was an Intel Core i5-6500 and RX480 system.
  • An i5 6500? That is not that bad of a CPU yet. Does start to show its age.
  • I have an old dell optiplex 7040 with 16 gb of DDR4 ram, a RTX 3050 LP single slot 6gb gpu, with a I5 6500.
  • Very sorry for the late response, it was the cpu. I bought a used Intel Pentium G4400 for 5 euros just to check and it worked.
  • CPU - i5-6500
