• An i7 11700 you can get for ~~$160 on eBay or an i5 11600K for ~~$140, those would be massive upgrades from what you have now.
• If you still did want to do a hardware upgrade anyways then you could get a used i5-11600K/KF or i7-11700/F/K/KF and that would be the close to the best gaming performance you could get on your current motherboard from the CPU.
• if your motherboard supports it, I would go for the i5-11600K its 30% faster than the 10400F and usually its cheap
• or a 11600k for €285. those are your two cheapest options buying new.
