Intel Arc B570
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Intel Arc B570 is generally viewed as a high-value, budget-friendly GPU for 1080p gaming, frequently compared to the RTX 4060 and RX 7600. While it is praised for offering 10GB of VRAM at a lower price point than many competitors, its reception is tempered by strict hardware requirements and reports of technical instability during setup.
Pros
- Excellent price-to-performance ratio for 1080p gaming.
- Includes 10GB of VRAM, which is superior to many 8GB cards in its price class.
- Strong out-of-the-box Linux support with recent kernels.
- Often cited as one of the cheapest brand-new cards available for modern builds.
Cons
- Strict requirement for Resizable BAR (Re-BAR) support to function correctly.
- Reports of motherboard detection issues and VGA boot errors.
- Performance is approximately 20% lower than its sibling, the B580.
- Initial driver and setup stability can be inconsistent for some users.
Caveats
- Requires a motherboard and CPU (typically Ryzen 3000 or newer) that supports Resizable BAR.
- Users have reported the card failing to output to displays or being listed as 'N/A' in BIOS despite fans spinning.
Best for
- Budget-conscious 1080p gamers.
- Linux users looking for modern hardware support.
- Builders who prioritize VRAM capacity over brand name at the $200-$250 price point.
Avoid if
- You are using older hardware that lacks Resizable BAR support.
- You prefer a plug-and-play experience with minimal troubleshooting risk.
- You can afford the step up to the B580 for a significant performance boost.
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older (median age ~205 days), which may affect the relevance of driver-related complaints for this fast-changing hardware category.

In the gpu side you can do with some 3060, 6600 or A580/750/770, maybe a B570 because those are nigh dirty cheap
If you are looking for the cheapest brand new card (on Newegg), there is the Arc B570, but.... only if your motherboard supports resizeable bar (rebar).
The other alternatives i saw were the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER which isn't really available here for a reasonable price and the Intel Arc B570, which i read workes only properly with a ryzen 3000 or better (re-bar).
Also someone strongly suggested the RX7600 is just bad and the ARC B570 would be a better option? I can get both for £280, would you agree its the b570 is a better option?
For the GPU, the lowest I'd want to go these days is a Rtx 2070/rtx 3060/rtx 4060/rtx 5060, Radeon 6700/Radeon 7600/Radeon 9060xt, or Arc A750/Arc B570.
Intel Arc B570 is currently $199 on Amazon. Could be a good option for a little while.
If you’re interested, Intel has GPUs, the Arc B570 and B580 that is similar in performance to RTX 4060/5060
