HyperX Cloud III
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The HyperX Cloud III is generally viewed as a reliable gaming headset that excels in microphone quality and comfort, though it receives mixed feedback regarding its sound signature compared to its predecessor. While many users praise it as a significant upgrade for gaming, others find the treble-heavy profile and specific technical glitches to be drawbacks.
Pros
- Substantially improved microphone quality, particularly on the wired version
- Excellent comfort with the stock leather earpads
- Strong value proposition for a gaming-specific headset
- Solid sound performance for competitive gaming contexts
Cons
- Significant loss of bass and seal when switching to cloth earpads
- Treble-heavy sound signature can be fatiguing for some users
- Reports of technical issues such as random beeping noises during use
- Stock leather earpads can cause ears to become sweaty over time
Caveats
- There is a persistent debate within the community regarding whether this model is a true upgrade or a downgrade from the Cloud II
- Swapping earpads for comfort (cloth) drastically alters the intended sound profile
Best for
- Gamers who prioritize clear microphone communication
- Users looking for a comfortable, mid-range wired gaming headset
- Those upgrading from entry-level or older HyperX gear
Avoid if
- You are sensitive to treble-forward or 'bright' audio signatures
- You require cloth earpads but are unwilling to sacrifice bass response
- You are seeking a high-fidelity audiophile experience rather than a gaming-tuned headset

If yes, go for the hyperex cloud 3 or the maxwell.
Hi there, I currently own a pair of HyperX Cloud 3 and an EPOS H6Pro open back, and Im looking for buying my first pair of Hi Fi headphones.
But insta difference was visible.. Imagine when i could master 1k hours on this gear..
A few months ago I picked up a wired hyperx cloud 3 headset from walmart for the cheap with the intent to replace it. I have found them pleasantly nice for the price and have yet to hear someone complain about audio quality.
I’m using a HyperX Cloud 3 and i love the sound with the stock leather earpads especially the bass. The problem is after a few hours my ears get sweaty so I switched to the cloth pads. Comfort wise it’s a massive upgrade but sound wise not so much. The headset suddenly feels like it lost its clamp or seal and a lot of the bass just disappears.
I've been using HyperX Cloud 3 for about 3 years and was quite satisfied.
My Hyperx Cloud 3, that i bought few months ago, makes random beeping (yk, as if someone's calling phone near the mic, when no one is calling) noise when I am on discord.
I would also say that the HyperX Cloud 3 is most likely to be a better option at around €150 with the DT 770/DT 990 Pro.
For now i have blackshark v2(wired) and hyperx cloud 3 (wired)
Hyperx Cloud 3s are amazing.
