At the moment, the main gaming bottleneck in their system is the GPU - I repasted the GTX 1080 and overclocked it in MSI afterburner, but only so much you can squeeze out of a 8gb VRAM card of that vintage.
Btw, have you ever experienced any issues shutting down your proxmox instance? I had that problem for a while with my GTX 1080... But it seems to have sorted itself out after an update from proxmox.
