Pros

  • Greek yogurt is loaded with protein and is great for you. You can start with flavors to ease into it.
  • Parent context: 89 cents for Greek yogurt? Reply: I looked at the bigger container which is probably (but not always) cheaper per oz. It's right on par with tuna for $/gram protein and slightly better in $/calorie.
  • To work off the greek yogurt aspect, I use greek yogurt in place of sour cream all the time. More protein, less calories.
  • Just get a big tub of Greek yogurt, chop up some cucumber, squirt some olive oil and lemon juice, fresh dill. Perfection. I swear I add Greek yogurt to every meal somehow these days. It fills me up and keeps me going.
  • Greek yogurt can be really satisfying. I either get the big tubs and meal prep yogurt + from-frozen berries + muesli, sometimes with a scoop of peanut powder for extra protein.

Cons

  • Greek yogurt did it to me. I used to eat it pretty much daily and as soon as I stopped the bloating quickly went away.
  • I also can't get on the Greek yogurt train... It tastes sour.
  • Greek yogurt and eggs make me wince when I have to buy them lol
  • I attempted Greek yogurt this weekend and the milk cost me $1.40 which made only 450g of yogurt. I can buy a tub of 850g yogurt from Walmart or Target for $4. But the time effort was measurable.
  • Already eat lentils on a regular basis and to get a similar amount of protein as I'd get from chicken breasts in greek yogurt I'd have to spend more than the breasts at that point.
