GPU Drivers
Reddit take
Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.
Pros
- Updated Gpu drivers, updated the bios but no memory of updating the chipset drivers at all. After i did the random shutdowns stopped.
- Don't forget to check your BIOS version and update if necessary.
- Then install the GPU drivers.
- First thing that comes to mind would be to reinstall/update your drivers. Live-service games like Fortnite can have some performance swings, oftentimes with updated drivers coming out to address negative ones - or could just be a corrupt...
- Just download the newest ones.
Cons
- i got an error relating to my gpu's driver "WudfRd failed to load" i have updated my gpu drivers twice this week so maybe its just an unstable driver or something or a glitch
- Drivers issue - I'm not sure if I've done the proper steps for ruling this out but I reinstalled my GPU drivers with DDU since I noticed that in event viewer there was an error relating to it before one of my crashes. This was the error...
- Gpu drivers are notorious for not cleaning out old/incompatible bits.
- And the black screen after updating GPU drivers has only happened when updating through the app few times, and even then a restart + regular install works fine.
- You need to rollback your drivers by booting into safe mode on integrated graphics on your motherboard,i had this issue lastnight aswell, likely wont update again till they have a for sure fix for this

Drivers issue - I'm not sure if I've done the proper steps for ruling this out but I reinstalled my GPU drivers with DDU since I noticed that in event viewer there was an error relating to it before one of my crashes. This was the error message: "The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device ROOT\DISPLAY\0000". Since I've reinstalled my GPU drivers the error has gone away but the issue has persisted
Then install the GPU drivers.

It might be the drivers. Try rolling back to an earlier driver. I'm having black screen issues suddenly after installing this latest one.
After i posted this I did get another couple of crashes with gpu drivers uninstalled.
