Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion

Pros

• If you're interested in Gloomhaven, definitely get Jaws of the Lion first. It's the best £35 I've ever spent on a board game.

Cons

• The Amazon description says it fits up to 6 players. Which it might for a small footprint game but for something like Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion it feels like it can probably handle 4 at the most.
• I tried JotL, but it wasn't for me. I liked the first few scenarios, but I really, really dislike how my hand of cards dwindles, taking the decision space with it. I totally get why, and it makes sense, but I still didn't like it. I just...
• Coming from Gloomhaven, Jaws of the Lion didn't fully land with our group. It was still plenty of fun, but it felt like a downgrade without more of the persistent elements, and playing with the book as a board instead of tiles just felt...
• Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion was a masterclass tutorial game and a fantastic learning tool, though I found the rulebook as a *reference* to be lacking.
