Pros
- The Flint 2 or 3 will be much better routers for less money with way better wifi.
- Yes, the flint 2 or 3 are better than both in the title.
- Wifi 7 is also a great option if you have the extra $ and devices that support it. In that case they have a Flint 3 model that is tri band. Keep in mind the 5ghz and 2.4ghz will be slower on that model since it's focused for 6ghz perform...
- Flint 2 or Flint 3
- Flint 3 is a solid router. Just be aware that Flint 2 actually has a faster 2.0 GHz CPU and higher WireGuard throughput (up to ~900 Mbps vs ~650–680 Mbps on Flint 3). Flint 3’s big win is Wi-Fi 7 with a 6 GHz band and 5× 2.5G ports, whic...
Cons
- I look a bit into the flint 3 but the general opinion leans into the 2 for VPN heavy set-ups.
- Right now I am using a Flint 3. ... I couldn't find performance data for the Flint 3, but ... I think I read that the Flint 3 CPU is weaker, so you should expect less.
- A shame Flint 3 does not… Because it has a Qualcomm sic. Chances of support for opener are lower. And even if possible, there will be no hw offloading.
- Flint 3 just came out but the flint 2 has better specs so no need to waste the money on the 3
- for this reason the flint 3 is not recommended

Flint 3’s big win is Wi-Fi 7 with a 6 GHz band and 5× 2.5G ports, which can really help in congested apartment environments if your devices support 6 GHz.

I might look into gli-net and the flint 2 (wifi 6) or flint 3 (wifi 7).
The Flint 3 is my top choice, since my whole lab is bottlenecked by the cheap 1Gbps router from my ISP, and having those 2.5G ports would finally let my mini PC, nas, and desktop communicate at proper speeds.
A shame Flint 3 does not… Because it has a Qualcomm sic. Chances of support for opener are lower. And even if possible, there will be no hw offloading.
