Reddit take

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Gigabyte B550 Gaming X (specifically the V2 revision) is generally regarded as a budget-friendly ATX motherboard that serves as a functional alternative to more popular mid-range boards. While it is frequently included in successful builds, user opinions are sharply divided regarding its power delivery limits and BIOS stability.

Pros

  • Often available at a competitive price point or as a 'great deal'
  • Standard ATX form factor provides more space than micro-ATX alternatives
  • Considered a viable backup option when the MSI B550-A PRO or Gigabyte Eagle are out of stock

Cons

  • Limited feature set and connectivity options compared to higher-tier B550 boards
  • Reports of BIOS settings resetting unexpectedly
  • Conflicting user reports on VRM quality and power delivery for high-end CPUs

Caveats

  • There is a direct contradiction in user advice regarding high-end CPUs: one user recommends it for the 5950X, while another warns it is too 'skimpy' for anything above an 8-core processor.
  • Some users have reported intermittent system freezes and black screens, though these may be related to other components like RAM or GPU.

Best for

  • Budget-conscious AM4 builds
  • Mid-range 8-core CPUs (e.g., Ryzen 5700X or 5800X)
  • Users who need a basic ATX board without extra bells and whistles

Avoid if

  • You require extensive I/O or high-end connectivity features
  • You are uncomfortable with potential BIOS stability issues
  • You plan to use a high-draw 12 or 16-core CPU and want guaranteed VRM overhead

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median age of approximately 205 days, and is based on a limited number of mentions from a single subreddit (r/buildapc).

Go for the ATX Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2. Has the space you need, and will have better power delivery for the 5950X

the board is fine, bit skimpy on features and connectivity but handles an 8-core cpu's power draw sufficiently, wouldn't put a 5900/5950x on it though.

If the Gigabyte B550 EAGLE WIFI6 is out of stock before you manage to buy one, you can try to get the Gigabyte B550 GAMING X V2 or the MSI B550-A PRO instead.

So my main issue rn is that when i try to play elden ring, it works just fine and in like 10-15 minutes, both of my screens freezez and they became full black for like 2-3 seconds and then after it became normal again, but after 10-15 minutes it happens again. And i dont know what the problem is, i have the latest bios update for my motherboard, its maybe something with the GPU? Or maybe it is just the ram sticks?
