Gigabyte B450M DS3H
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Gigabyte B450M DS3H is characterized by users as a legacy budget motherboard that is increasingly difficult to recommend for modern builds. While it remains functional for entry-level gaming and can support newer AM4 processors with a BIOS update, it lacks contemporary features such as ARGB headers, USB-C, and PCIe 4.0 support. Discussions often center on its limitations regarding VRM cooling and connectivity, positioning it strictly as a low-end utility option.
Pros
- Compatible with Ryzen 5000 series CPUs (requires BIOS update)
- Functional for low-demand games like League of Legends and Valorant
- Backward compatible with newer GPUs
Cons
- Lacks 5V 3-pin ARGB headers for lighting control
- No USB-C connectivity
- Poor VRM coverage and cooling
- Limited to PCIe 3.0 speeds
- Subpar rear I/O port selection
Caveats
- A BIOS update is typically required to support Zen 3 (Ryzen 5000) processors
- High-end GPUs will be limited to PCIe 3.0 bandwidth, though performance impact may be minor for some cards
Best for
- Ultra-budget AM4 builds
- Basic office or light gaming PCs
- Users repurposing older DDR4 memory and Ryzen 3000/5000 series CPUs
Avoid if
- You plan to use ARGB lighting components
- You require USB-C ports for peripherals
- You are using high-power CPUs that require robust VRMs
- You want to take full advantage of PCIe 4.0 storage or graphics

A B450 MB?
They are all pretty low-end (bad rear I/Os, no USB-C, bad coverage of VRMs)

I just got the new motherboard and still got no display. It was the GPU all along. I'm not sure why but it does have a display on my friend's pc, so I borrowed a different GPU and it worked on both of my motherboards now I've got two of them.
Hey guys, I recently installed a Deepcool LS520 SE 240mm ARGB liquid cooler, but my motherboard (Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2) doesn’t have a 5V 3-pin ARGB header.
Your Gigabyte B450M DS3H should work with the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, but you’ll likely need a BIOS update for CPU support. The board only supports PCIe 3.0, but newer GPUs like the RX 9070 are backward compatible, so it should run fine with only a very small performance difference.
I've had my PC for a pretty long time, having built it in 2020 when I was a freshman in high school with a limited budget. With my specs causing low FPS, I decided to buy a 7800 XT (on its way)— but with that purchase, I'll need to upgrade my motherboard...
Ok my motherboard is trashed but everything else in my build is a ok, I only play league, valorant and other small stupid games with my friends. The mother board I have currently Gigabyte B450M DS3H (I will provide a photo)
