Gemini Pro
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
Gemini Pro is increasingly viewed as a capable "workhorse" LLM, particularly valued for its reasoning abilities in certification prep and its deep integration with the Google ecosystem. While users report significant improvements in its utility over time, it suffers from notable hallucination issues, particularly regarding code inspection and source verification.
Pros
- Strong reasoning and explanation of complex topics for exam preparation
- Effective at summarizing large documents and PDFs
- Seamless integration with Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, Mail)
- Reported high accuracy in specific technical question-and-answer scenarios
Cons
- Frequent hallucinations, particularly regarding code that does not exist in provided files
- Tendency to provide fake or broken source links during research tasks
- Inconsistent performance when switching from other models like Claude Sonnet
- Occasional omissions when processing large files
Caveats
- Users strongly recommend cross-checking all output for accuracy
- Performance may vary significantly between different versions (e.g., student vs. paid)
- Hallucination rates for code inspection were reported as high as 80-90% in some technical workflows
Best for
- Certification exam preparation (e.g., CISSP, Azure)
- Summarizing long-form text and books
- Users heavily invested in the Google ecosystem
Avoid if
- Precise code debugging or file inspection is required
- Verifiable citations and working external links are a priority
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older (median age ~382 days), and for a fast-changing product like an AI service, this may not reflect the most recent updates.

There isn't a clear way to plan this, and Gemini Pro's itineraries were really lacking.
the Gemini is tricky
I've leaned heavily on Gemini for marketing copy, but lately it seems like Gemini Pro results are becoming increasingly poor in quality versus what I previously got.
Still have the screenshots of a few of the questions I did indeed run through both Claude Opus and Gemini Pro, just to make sure I am not missing something

Although the Sonnet, GPT 5.x, Gemini Pro should be comparable in capabilities, they seem different in how you must approach them to get the best..
I was simply using the thinking version of Gemini Pro, no prompt, just a daily "Let's continue studying for CISSP." I do have personal intelligence enabled as well, for what its worth. But I took the chance and just rolled the dice with what it provided.
As the title says, I passed with AI (Gemini Pro) as my tutor. ... My daily drives to and from work turned into practice test / study sessions / what if scenarios that I felt were really invaluable to fortifying that manager mindset.
