Called them today after seeing the order on hold. Phone rings twice and then a lovely guy called Connor answers and he explains that I missed an email from them on the day I ordered saying it was out of stock and offering a free upgrade to the newer model that is CL28 and also RGB at no extra cost. It just so happens to have 1mm of clearance below my CPU fan (which I can't move because it has 1mm of clearance to my case). So I took that deal, it's already been dispatched and that's the story of how I ended up with 2 x 16G 6000mhz CL28 RGB RAM for $500!

As long as it's in the QVL for your motherboard then yeah, it's good. I've had a very good history with G.Skill RAM. The 7200 speed is overkill—sweet spot for the 9800X3D is 6000—but this won't mean any performance loss, just not any significant gains over 6000. If it's what's available then yeah, jump on it.
