evga 2080ti

95c on idle? that is stupidly hot for doing nothing, you definitely need to repaste it

I have an evga 2080ti that’s running at 95 idle. I know this is a stupid high temp and I don’t know how to lower the temps

Repaste and clean the card, if you don't know how to either watch a guide (most of the time just 4 screws and fan cables and wiping off old paste then reapplying). If you don't want to risk anything then take it to a PC repair shop that does this stuff. I would also change the thermal pads on the memory and VRMs for fresh ones but you need to look for specific thickness pads for your card model. If the card is just dusty then clean and see if that improves temps.

Recently, I installed an EVGA 2080ti that was gifted to me in place of my 1660 super. It works well, though I will likely change the thermal pads at some point, as the memory is getting 20-25c hotter than core under load.

Last night I was letting my pc sit in steam vr, and my cpu temps climbed to about 100c in less than 15 minutes.

If it's already in Centigrade then you should re-paste the thing.

If it's *idling* that hot, it's more likely that the fans have stopped. Bad paste won't raise the temperature by more than a few tens of degrees.
