I find it works better than evaporust, but evaporust also leaves a protective layer - so you need to be aware that you are going to be pulling out bare metal that is going to want to rust again.

Drain the Evaporust back into it's jug. That stuff is good for many uses.

Dump a few gallons of Evaporust in there, let it sit overnight, drain, dry, and wipe down with oil or WD-40. Good to go.
Seriously, buy a gallon (or go home made, see recipe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVYZmeReKKY&t=2s ), and then just throw everything in there. Let it sit for a day or two, pull them out, rinse them off, and cover with some sort of protectant
