Dragon

Pros

• You could just play the Dragon proper. It includes Nf6 which makes white play Nc3, and avoids the maroczy bind. It's a very fine opening at most levels.
• I don't think I ever said my HT setup was the same as the Hisense, did I? Dragon comes close.
• Dragon: mostly sound. Main line is a super sharp opposite side castle and pawn storm. Black has some new resources like the Chinese or Hungarian Dragons, so I don’t think this is refuted

Cons

• Dragon is super sharp, but its soundness is teetering on a knife edge if white is booked up; I hesitate to call it wholly unsound, but it’s definitely not so sound as the najdorf/sveshnikov.
• Dragon is the most common recommendation, but everyone kind of knows you're a sloppy move or two away from losing in the Yugoslav. White also has to be careful, but I don't think nearly to the same extent. I played it for a while, enjoye...
• The reason why the dragon fell out of fashion for a while is because the Yugoslav setup for white (f3, Be3, Qd2, 0-0-0) was really dangerous for black. These days there are a lot of ways to play against it and so the dragon is currently...
• The Atlan and the Dragon suck, there's no going around them. You know how every game has a *that moment* when you're replaying, that you remember why you don't replay more of them? Yeah, these two are those.
• Anything Dragon - This is known at the top level for a while now, but the Dragon has been studied to death. Unless you know all the variations, it’s very easy to get in trouble as black.
