DPA 6060

Pros

• Parent context: How do they compare to the 4060? Reply: Yeh I’ve found it to be an identical sound to the 4060’s, but the 6060 has a lower noise floor (not that you’d ever notice, they’re both so quiet)
• Parent context: 6060 Reply: They sounds very much like the 4060's but now in a smaller capsule size. They sound fantastic.
• I used some DPA 6060’s on a show last year and I think they are the best sounding to size ratio.
• Try the DPA 6060. Sounds better than both of those mics.
• DPA 6060/6061 are used a lot, those sound GREAT!

Cons

• Parent context: How do they compare to the 4060? Reply: Great for hiding and sound almost identical! I do find that they’re more at risk of sounding muffled which I just is assume to the size. So if I’m micing up a heavy jumper...
• Curious why not for 6060s! I use them a lot. But they’re starting to fall apart tbh
• More recently, I just paid $124 for them to assess and repair a lavalier microphone (supposedly fixing the solder/terminal connector on a DPA 6060), only to get it back and find it is still very much broken.
• I noticed my DPA 6060 is the only lav mic that is 180 degrees out of phase when I line up all the waveforms in my DAW accounting for TX latency.
• I basically need a high quality device that will power a DPA 6060 - and fit in my wife’s pocket or clip to her belt.
